The study assessed the quality of antiretroviral (ARVs) drugs in Cameroon, focusing on their supply chain quality control and assurance. The evaluation was prompted by concerns about counterfeit drugs, poor manufacturing, and degradation in developing countries. The study covered 16 structures in eight towns, collecting 35 ARVs products. The research revealed that all ARVs were properly packed according to WHO guidelines. Physico-chemical properties, identification, and active principle dosage showed that all drugs complied with the tests performed. The good quality of these ARVs can be attributed to the fact that they were WHO prequalified products, ensuring they were manufactured under strict regulations. However, the study identified some limitations, including limited access to other regions of Cameroon and the inability to test liquid formulations. In conclusion, the ARVs supply chain in Cameroon meets international regulations in terms of quality and conformity. Continuous quality control monitoring and evaluation of all drugs are essential to maintain their efficacy and safety.
