The "WHO Procurement Report 2022" provides a detailed account of the World Health Organization's procurement activities for the year. In 2022, WHO's procurement totaled US$ 1.635 billion, a slight decrease from 2021 but still significantly higher than the pre-pandemic levels of 2019. This high procurement volume is attributed to the ongoing global response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The majority of the procurement was for services, amounting to US$ 1.033 billion, while goods accounted for US$ 600.8 million.

The report breaks down procurement statistics, revealing that 77% of all Purchase Orders (POs) were valued below US$ 20,000. However, 57% of the total procurement value came from POs worth over US$ 100,000. The top categories for goods procurement included Polio Vaccines, Hospital Equipment, Emergency Health Kits, Miscellaneous Drugs, and Diagnostics and Research Biologicals. For services, the leading categories were Research and Normative work, Consulting and Audit Services, IT Development and Support, Human Resources, and Freight.

Geographically, WHO's headquarters led the procurement activities with US$ 632.8 million, followed by the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (US$ 392.3 million) and the Regional Office for Africa (US$ 275.5 million). These three entities combined accounted for approximately 80% of the total procurement value in 2022.
